“ Very nice our pet Maxx was allowed in as it was quiet and a bit nippy outside in the garden. We had some lovely sandwiches and cake along wit tea. No cheap by any means for what you had however it was very good and fresh. ”

We called in as we were passing during our visit to Lacock. The weather was pleasant so sat outside in the beautiful, mature, well tended garden. The simple menus had a wide and good choice of food and drinks. Cream teas with a varied choice of teas, Wiltshire rarebit, sausage sandwich were chosen. The fab and friendly waitress was attentive. Every request was received with a smile and polite response. A little red-breasted robin was very friendly and quite tame. It was looking for scraps and tidbits and kept us entertained until our food arrived. Generous portions delivered with a smile. Tasty and delicious, everything was cooked to perfection. We loved our visit! We will be back again! ”

A really beautiful place to have lunch, a cream tea or coffee and cake. My favourite is to relax in the exquisite gardens, drink a pot of loose leaf tea whilst munching on a basket of freshly baked scones. There really is no other place like the Hunting Lodge. A delight and very special place in Lacock. We cannot wait for it to re- open post Covid! ”

They did tell us how long we would have to wait. So we ordered and went for a walk and came back. We had light much but the afternoon teas looked delicious too. ”
